Taxes

We must be creative and practical in helping homeowners invest in their homes and remain in our community, without being priced out by steadily increasing property taxes.

Housing & Property Taxes

Aberdeen is a great place to live, and more people are starting to notice. With changes in New York City and Netflix expanding to our south, demand for homes in Monmouth County is only going to grow. That is good news for property values, but it also means we need to be honest about the pressures that come with it.

Rising demand brings rising costs. Long-time residents and young families should not be priced out of the community they love simply because Aberdeen has become a more desirable place to live.

Keeping Aberdeen Affordable for the People Already Here

Matthew believes the township needs to be creative and practical in helping homeowners invest in their properties and stay in Aberdeen for the long haul. That means looking at every tool available to provide meaningful relief and support to the residents who built this community.

An Honest Conversation About Taxes

Matthew will not make promises he cannot keep. He is not going to stand here and tell you he will cut your taxes, because that kind of talk is easy and rarely true. What he will do is fight to make sure Aberdeen's residents get a fair deal. Too often, outside developers come into towns like ours and walk away with sweetheart arrangements while longtime homeowners carry the burden. That is not acceptable, and Matthew will push back against it.

Aberdeen's growth should benefit the people who live here, not just the people looking to profit from it.
