Economic Development

We need to attract more businesses to our community, and that starts with restoring our Economic Development Council.

Economic Development

Aberdeen has real potential, and it's time we start putting it to work.

For too long, our commercial corridors have underperformed while residents drive elsewhere to shop, dine, and do business. Matthew believes that changes through smart, focused economic development that keeps Aberdeen's families in mind.

Restoring the Economic Development Council The first step is bringing the right people back to the table. Matthew is committed to restoring Aberdeen's Economic Development Council, a dedicated body of local business leaders and residents working together to build a real strategy for growth. When the people who live and work here have a seat at the table, the results actually reflect what the community needs.

Growing Our Retail and Commercial Spaces Aberdeen should be a destination, not a pass-through. By identifying real opportunities to attract new businesses and support the ones already here, we can build a healthier local economy that keeps money in our community and creates jobs for our neighbors. Growth should be steady and always guided by what actually serves our residents.

Investing in Our Main Streets Aberdeen's existing commercial areas deserve renewed attention and investment. That means improving what we already have while also building something new where it's needed most. Matthew supports creating a true Main Street experience in Cliffwood, giving that community its own gathering place, its own amenities, and a stronger sense of identity.

A stronger local economy means better services, less pressure on residential taxpayers, and a town worth staying in.
