# Aberdeen Tax Watch: Check the Promise Against the Numbers

Matt Braithwaite for Aberdeen Council July 28, 2026

Every election cycle, Aberdeen Forward makes the same pledge: keep taxes stable and keep Aberdeen affordable. It's a promise voters hear again and again. But how do you know if a promise like that is actually being kept? Until now, there hasn't been an easy way for residents to check.

That's why we built Aberdeen Tax Watch, a free tool that lets you enter your address and see exactly how your estimated tax bill has changed from 2023 to 2026. No spin, no talking points, just your numbers.

With Aberdeen Tax Watch, you can compare your increase with the townwide average, see how it stacks up against your neighbors, and track your tax bill alongside your assessment to understand what actually changed and why. You can even check whether your assessment appears fair based on your home's estimated market value, and see how your increase compares with Aberdeen Township's own Mayor.

We're not telling you what to think. We're giving you the information to draw your own conclusions. Look up your address, review the numbers, and decide for yourself whether the promise of stable taxes and an affordable Aberdeen has matched the reality in your own tax bill.

[Aberdeen Together believes residents deserve transparency, not just talking points, when it comes to their tax dollars. Try Aberdeen Tax Watch today and see what the numbers say about your home.](https://taxwatch.aberdeentogether.org/)
